yah I have heard similar - it only takes a year - but hard to find work after - and money isn't horrible, but not great either. There's no moving up ....... but sideways .........

Takes 2 years, I have heard it is not too much fun and doesn't pay well. That is second hand info I have never looked closely at it.

Some places hired without education and train you themselves, but your looking at about $11/hour.
