I got J a book - I am not a big Valentines Day fan.

This is our first year doing cards too - nothing says Happy Valentines Day like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!!

Valentine cards are not the same as when I was a kid.

I'll probably just get Mountain a card and........chocolates? I'm not big on the hype either, however. I know that if get nothin. Not even chocolates I'll be upset. Soooo........

I am surprised by how commercial EVERY hoiday has become! Geez! It's like everything has been elevated to Christmas level and Christmas has gone through the roof in spending!

i refuse to buy into the Valetine Crap - J gets a book - not even a Valentines book - just a book.
Scott and I dont do dinner - as we all know how they jack up the price - if anything - we always just order pizza.
I got Scott a DVD and a magazine - I expect some bulbs for my garden or a full body massage - :)

I love Valentines day! It depends on how you view it. For me it isn't a couples holiday, it's one of the days in the years we should tell those we love that we love them. Yes, we SHOULD do that every day but moms and dads, grammas and grampas we don't see as often and some important friends don't hear it as often as they should. For us we will spend it as a family, have fun and remember how lucky we are to have so many loved ones! Kids will get a chocolate sucker and a craft or something... Lenore is older and we usually make her love coupons... "we'll do the dishes for you one night" or "date night with daddy or smommy" ya know... not commercial but still something that is important... our time!
